Character Name: Seth Nightroad; also known as "Empress Augusta Vradica of the New Human Empire" and "Krusnik 03"

Age: approx over 900.

Canon Point: Chapter 34 of the Manga, after the "Queen of the Night" arc
How will your character react to the initial night period?: At first she would react with shock or surprise; the hotel is very dissimilar to what she knows in her current time. However, being that she is still able to fight back, she would do so, carefully. Most likely she would attempt to keep up the act that she is helpless in front of other 'guests' as much as possible; that she is nothing more than a very curious, very lively young woman. It may be disorting not to have her family, friends, or subjects, but she would be glad as well; that way, they're unlikely to get used against her or injured on her behalf. Though not happy with her situation, she would do her best to make the best of it, and make sure she has access to Methuselah blood, her source of energy for her trump card when possible.

She would also be active in information seeking. She's used to seeking out and being on top of the game, politics or spy work; being without her resources she would be off put. Nonetheless, she will do what she can to reestablish ties, in whatever way possible that would not show her hand.

History: http://trinityblood.wikia.com/wiki/Seth_Nightroad_(Empress_Augusta_Vradica)
Personality: There are many things one needs to know when it comes to Seth Nightroad. For one, she has her alter ego of the Empress, Augusta Vradica; another, she often keeps up veils and masks, pretending to be no more than a girl. She keeps both separate, and has for centuries. One persona is not to interact with the other, unless there is something to be gained. As a result she is very difficult to know; she can and will misdirect with quips, distractions and jokes. If she is seen as a little odd, mysterious or otherwise, so much the better. She does not want to be known personally as a rule.

This rule applies especially when she is the Empress. Internationally and within the New Human Empire, she is known as the immortal ruler of Terrans (what would be seen in our world as regular humans) and Methuselah (another more insulting term would be 'vampires'). Outside of the Empire, she is feared by the various Super power nations and organizations. What they know of her, is that she ruled a nation of proud people for over eight hundred years, and is not to be dealt with lightly. Within her Empire of glass, she has created a haven. She is known as mother of the nation, bringing balance by calling all of her subjects her 'children' to be cherished, protected and loved.

But for all she does cherish her subjects, she holds herself apart. Seeing her, personally, is nigh impossible; the closest she gets to a public appearance is during council meetings, where she is either behind a curtain or wears a heavy veil over her person. Her voice is modified, further distancing herself from the two personas. But what little is seen of her is elegant and composed. Usually during these times, she speaks no more then she has to, inclined to listen to her 'children' and hear then out, praising them for whatever efforts they have made towards her behalf and that of the Empire. She is respectful of both their needs, and the needs of the nation at the same time; with her level of clear intelligence, political savvy, and charisma, it is little wonder that she is admired by her subjects, if not worshiped.

This is what Seth has built, in eight hundred years. Though she is aware it is a delicate balance, depending on the Empress' presence to ensure the peace of the nation, she has done little to change it. Although she has admitted she has looked for at least one replacement, she has yet to do so. For now, the Empress is useful, as both a symbol and goddess figure.

Then we come to Seth, the girl. This is usually her public self, and is kept separate from the Empress. To most, that is all they ever will see of her, and it suits her just fine. She is, in a word, a whirlwind. Like the wind, she can be lively and unpredictable, full of teases and quips. At first glance, she appears eccentric, strange even, with a casual disregard for social or cultural barriers between races. She's friendly from the first, teasing and flirting even as she tries to up sell tea in her tea seller guise. At times she seems rude, working only for money, huffing when she's disrespected. But she cares. Even with Ion's attempts to shoo her off, she comes by to save Esther, and revealed that she is more than just a tea seller, claiming she is a medical student. She can take things seriously but...most of the time, she doesn't want to.

She rather take what fun she can get, and go with it. She'll tease, she'll troll, and she doesn't care if it sets off anyone's temper. It's all in good fun, and no one gets hurt by her playfulness. There's no malice intended. That would be effort wasted; there's so much more that could be done then be intentional cruelty.

Her heart appears to be on her sleeve. She's open with her admiration for both Esther's appearance, and her intelligence during their conversations. Her surprise is unfeigned, as well as her pain. No emotion is concealed. And yet, her seeming fragility is held up by enormous strength. She will do what she must to do what is right: she will stand in front of unstoppable monsters and protect those unable to protect themselves. She will use her body, her mind, and whatever other tools at her disposal.

The question is, is Seth the girl, or is she the Empress. The answer is no. She is neither one or the other; bits of her true personality leak through for both, and as a viewer we see who she is: a master manipulator, someone who loves life and yet...painfully isolated. She does this not only to protect herself from harm and study, but to see as much of the board as possible. She has her sandbox, and no one else is allowed to play in it without her leave.

Little can be said of what Seth truly enjoys or likes; the same for her dislikes. Given a chance, Seth tends to misdirect, lie, and distract to confirm anything, seeing how it could be a weakness. However, there are a few, small things that she is fond of, and one thing she is known to fear.

She loves the color green to the point of making it the Empresses color; no other is allowed to wear it within the her Empire. She also has a great fondness for part time jobs, using them for information, relaxation, and a way to see the people, as well as information. If possible, she enjoys making small animals her pets, numbering amongst them squirrels, rabbits, and small birds; sometimes she will name them after Abel, out of what may be affection. However, she has been known to frighten her animals so much, that they no longer want anything to do with her. When rejected by her pet, there is the rare flash of pain from her-which is not even seen when she had been attacked, injured, or the death of others. Pets are more personal to her, same in the matter of family.

There is only one she acknowledges as brother currently, and that is Abel. With their interactions, in private, we see the rare offer of physical affection between them. She obviously looks out for Abel, for all he is the older sibling; it is in part due to his alliance to the Vatican that she does not lash against them. She even invited him to stay, for all he would likely get underfoot, but did not seem shocked or rejected when he refused, for all she pouted. Although they are apart, they are still family.

This is not the case with her other 'sibling' Cain. For all that they grew up together and were part of the same alliance, for all that she was the one to save him hundred of years prior-she fears him. Even before saving him, she feared him, hiding behind Abel or Lilith given half a chance. Given half a chance, she would kill him, ensuring the survival of not only herself, but of her adopted people.

And she would use any or all of her resources to destroy what gets in her way. She is not merciful, nor is she kind, when it comes to the espionage or political game. People will be used, hurt, and die, and she will not bat an eye. She might voice her regrets, but they very well could be false, meant to assure that they were not, in fact, her puppets and easily disposable in the long run, and have been that way from the start.

All in all, she is not what you call a nice person. She can act as such, even to the point of decency, but she is foremost a puppet master. There are no excuses for her behavior, and she would not apologize for how she has acted in the present or the past. Rather, she has done what she can to ensure her survival, and at times what she considers will be for the greater good. The problem can come from what she considers to 'good' for Seth's morality is, at best, murky.

Abilities:
Seth is a genetically modified human. As well, she has been injected with a sentient virus known as "Krusnik" which feeds off of the ballist within the Methuselah blood stream. On a regular basis, the virus is in a dormant state, and needs to be activated, with approval given. When it is released, depending on the percentage level there is a visible transformation, and increase of abilities. These include:

Physical alternations, which give Seth fangs, blue-green tainted lips, red eyes, talon-like fingernails and hair standing on end. This can also in Seth's case include dragonfly wings, depending on the level of restrictions released;

Regeneration, in which the body can heal at a rapid rate from wounds (this includes visible holes in the body, lost organs, lost limbs. Anything short of being ground into dust or ripping the head from the body completely she may be able to survive);

Generation of weapons, where she has two trident-like tuning forks which she uses for direct and indirect combat;

Increase of speed, stamina, and strength, greater then that of the Methuselah (which during haste mode can be twenty times faster then a human);

The Flames of Sound, Seth's technique, in where a supersonic wave of sound (interestingly like Cain Knightlord's techniques, but not completely) with a uniform wavelength at an arbitrary point. The concentrated sound wave will burn what it's directed to into nothing but ash, or, as it has been described by those within the manga 'a pillar of salt'; depending on how the technique is used, the opposing figure may remain its visual appearance for minutes or hours after being struck, until it is disrupted by touch, wind or otherwise. Depending on the oppodent, she may strike at the legs to ensure immobility before finishing them off.

These are merely the active effects of the Krusnik nanobots, and these cannot be transferred to another human as their bodies will be unable to handle the procedure involved. Again, the Krusnik virus is dependent on feeding upon Methuselah blood in order to thrive; without it, activation, at best cannot happen. Going too long without food or the blood can and will cause bodily weakness, illness, physical pain to the point of agony, and it is implied violent urges caused by the Krusnik virus become much more difficult to control.

Even while Krusnik is dormant there are some benefits. As well, Seth body and mind possesses her own abilities not to be overlooked:

Immunity to viruses and disease, she was created as a test tube baby as genetically enhanced pioneer living in space; thus she is immunie against regular viruses and diseases that would kill a normal person;

Delayed/Non existent aging, Seth is, according to the novels, 966 years old and still appears to be in her late teens;

Dual blade user, appears to be able to use a set of sword swords or knives in combat;

High baseline speed, strength and stamina, allowing her to fight in close combat with autojagars and Methuselah;

Combat medicine, ability to treat wounds of others due to combat, given the right equipment, during and post care;

Genius scientist, created and raised to be a tool for advancing civilization during the Mars project with plans for further exploration; she was in charge of the science department. Such could be used for the quick identity of bombs, their creation, and how they are to be set off with a glance. She has also used her genius in political warfare, setting up deep laid traps and games for her opponents, as well as planning, creating, and ruling a peaceful nation.

Hey. Hey, is this working?

[There's a gentle tapping as she raps against the watch with her fingernail.]

I think it's working...I know I heard something earlier. Anyway! I'm Seth~I'm a very cute girl, and I'm...very bored.

[She sighs. Dramatically.]

I'm not looking for entertainment. Really, I'm not! But I'm used to being busy, and I bet there's some of you who feel the same. So, who wants to go on an adventure?

Maybe we could get some part-time jobs? Set up a show for later? Or even...

Go exploring? Why not! If we're going to be here for a while, we might as well know the place.

Right?
Third Person:
It was, all in all, interesting. Maybe too interesting. She felt her fingers tap against the table, which had been so clean hours before; cooks so ready to come out and serve. Now everything was ratty; it was a ghost of itself, only an echo of its former beauty there. Sometimes she heard screaming and hammering against doors and walls of various people-creatures. Monsters, they could be; too human, some might say. She might whole heartedly agree.

And there would also be those who would remark that she shouldn't be out here and was unable to handle being outside, where there she could easily be eaten up.

She smiled to herself. Well, what people didn't know, wouldn't hurt them. Seth patted the side of her hip fondly where she had taken a table runner for a belt, and the knife she had fond in her search around the Hotel. It might come in useful, and it would be less likely that she'd be picked up and kept away from all the interesting things.

Interesting things might end up becoming useful things, after all.

Nearby, she heard a cry. She felt her smile grow, a cat caught the canary grin as she ventured forward, ready to check what it was, whether it was human or another of the monstrous variety.

After all, it was so easy to cry around here. She would do her part to perk things up.
